Day 1 Avila
The highest capital of Spain is surrounded by walls that were built by Knights of the Reconquest over the original Romanwalls. Birthplace of Santa Teresa, we tour with an art hsitorian the Cathedral, Convent and Palaces as we walk around the walls of the city. This evening we dine in a 15h century water mill where the specialties are stuffed red peppers and succulent lamb chops.

Day 2 & 3 Gredos
Today our walk begins in the ancient Celtic city of Ulaca up to the Menga Pass in the Sierra de la Paramera. The following day we take a gentle climb to the Platform for a panaoramic view of the enitre Gredos range. The scenery includes springs and ibex, which is a regal goat that perches precariously on rocky precipes.
Day 4 Arenas de San Pedro
We shuttle to Puerto del Pico and journey through time along an ancient Roman road. The walk, a gentle downhill will take us to the 14th century castle of Mombeltran perfectly conserved with cylindrical corner towers, where we enjoy refreshments before returning to our mountain lodge.
Day 5 & 6 Jarandilla de la Vera
On our walk we are sure to encounter shepards but not much else. We arrive at a picture perfect valley brook covered with an 1800 year old Roman bridge. From this spot you will almost surely see the imperial eagles and mountain pastures above. The next day takes us to the Cahpel of our Lady of the Snow which affords us breathtaking views of the glacier carved south face of Gredos and the stunning jaranda Gorge.

Day 7
This morning we visit the Monastery of Yuste where Charles V one of the most powerful rulers in European history spend his final years in prayer. We later meet for departures.
