Huesca

Huesca Lies at the edge of the gently sloping plains near the foothills of the impressive Pyrenees. The area where these meet is called "la Hoya" (meaning "the river basin"), and it is here that the essence of Aragón can be found: the inviting plains and the proud and noble mountains. Huesca, capital city of the Alto Aragon region, is a small city with open and friendly people who make the city a hospitable place and a pleasant place to stay.

Jaca is a sizeable town and an understandably lively place in the winter. Jaca also makes a good base for forays into the mountains at any time of year, and should your interest be in hiking there are some great possibilities for you here.

 

Castillo de Loarre is one of Spain’s most spectacular fortresses, rising majestically from its rocky base and commanding the landscape all around it.
